Kudos

Check back here – my clients (past and present) are all taking the 5th, but I’ve got an offer for them hat they won’t want to refuse.

Right now, I’m checking through my archives – a fancy name for a bunch of Banker’s Boxes out in my garage – for pre-digital samples of the kinds of thank-you letters and accolades that let you know what they think of me.

The one I’m looking for is a letter from South Carolina Governor Jim Edwards – thanking me for a speech I’d written for him, one he delivered in Toronto as part of a state effort to recruit foreign-owned businesses to locate US operations in South Carolina.  Our efforts were successful – we landed the Michelin account (stealing it away from North Carolina), which ultimately led to $5 billion in capital investments by that auto-tire maker.  I got an autographed photo from the Governor, along with a nice letter – my first real “kudo.”  Since then, there have been a lot of others, but there’s nothing quite like your first success, triumph or accomplishment.

In the mean time, here are a few comments:

I wanted to take a moment to express my personal thanks for your contributions to Fleishman-Hillard’s success in the 2001 Silver Anvil competition.  I know how much hard work goes into a first-rate Silver Anvil entry like the one you and your FH colleagues put together on behalf of Documentum. I appreciate all the time, energy, and creativity you have put into delivering world-class results for this valued client.

Congratulations on bringing home a winner!

Sincerely

John D. Graham
